BIO

Dr. Walls is a licensed psychologist and policy leader. Her oversight of policy and community engagement across states has spurred a variety of solutions for children and their families. 

 

She believes that impact can be made both at the individual level, as well as the broader population health policy level, and is enthusiastic about finding the catalysts to effect positive change in those arenas. A well-respected clinician and advocate, she motivates people to engage collaborative action with joint outcomes. Dr. Walls advocates for health equity and loves bringing science to the public; she has worked in collaboration with a variety of news outlets and organizations on media coverage. 


Her involvement in a number of committees and boards have helped her gain knowledge, experience, and engage with the community to create novel solutions to healthcare issues as well as non-profit development. She recently served as the Electronics Communication Chair for the Society of Pediatric Psychology Board of Directors as well as the State Advocacy Chair for the Delaware Psychological Association. Additionally, she holds Gubernatorial appointments as a member of Delaware Early Childhood Council and Governor's Advisory Council on Substance Use and Mental Health, is co-chair of the Lt. Governor’s Behavioral Health Consortium policy committee, and co-chaired the Governor’s wellness committee on school reopening. She serves on the Board of Directors for Opportunity Labs and Dover Motor Speedway Children's Charities, as well as the Children and Families First Advocacy Committee.

 

Dr. Walls has been honored with a number of awards, including the 2020 Delaware Business Times 40under40, Delaware News Journal’s 2020 Most Influential Delawareans in Politics—alongside President Joe Biden, the 2019 Nemours Physician Excellence in Community Service award, the 2019 National Alliance on Mental Health, Delaware Healthcare Provider of the Year, and Nationwide Children's Hospital's Distinguished Alumni Award. She was a fellow in the Leadership Delaware class of 2020.
